I had not been downtown area for months and the other day and I thought are tallest building whichi is nearly 400 feet to the tip was huge. Our skyline is tiny in comparison. to this.
That use to be how tall our tallest building was about 10-15 years ago.
The tallest will be the Waterline Tower - 1,022 ft. (under construction right now)

It looks like Austin has a big beautiful skyline. The skyline in Wichita is nice but it is tiny in comparison. With a CSA(Combined Statistical Area) of just over 800,000 people you would think we would have a bigger skyline.

Very nice! I'm planning on coming to Austin just to do this same night shot in the near future.
Some nights the buildings have more lighting turned on. Also during bird migrations they turn many of the lights off. So prepare for that.
Very nice. That cloud cover made this pretty challenging to shoot with the change in light as the clouds/drone moved.

I was in Austin and Corpus Christi in May. Both cities are wonderful destinations. I would return any time. It’s great to be out of the water. I would love to explore this area more.

I'm not sure if it's amazing or sad that you managed to capture the majority of downtown without one single glimpse of the capital. I was born and raised in Austin and don't even recognize any of this anymore. The Frost Bank Tower with the glass spires was the tallest building built back when I remember everyone beginning to get upset about this growth.

@@esn yes we are safe. My current home is more than 5 miles from where the tornado hit. I did have a family home less than a block from that tornado damage. But everyone is safe.

WADR... Austin has now ruined its skyline with the two newest and largest buildings. Both bleak. Among a host of other shorter buildings. They are ruining a tremendous opportunity. More, is not better. Quality, is better.
True some of Austins buildings leave much to be desired. But Austin has some great looking towers already built with frost, indeed, and the google sail tower. There are a few new ones that are about to start that will have some great architecture.
